Overview
Africa, a continent rich in extraordinary wildlife, faces challenges like poaching and deforestation, which endanger its delicate ecological balance. This thought-provoking competition aims to raise awareness about these threats through the creation of impactful posters or artistic visuals that emphasise these dangers.
Theme
Participants are tasked with crafting impactful artworks that shed light on the perils facing Africa’s wildlife and environment. The focus is on raising consciousness and inspiring action to protect and preserve the continent’s natural heritage.
Specifications
- Participants are invited to create original 2D artwork, spanning mediums such as drawings, paintings, printmaking, and digital creations.
- The artwork should vividly convey the urgency and gravity of the threats posed by poaching and deforestation to Africa’s wildlife and ecological balance.
- Creativity, innovation, and artistic expression are encouraged to evoke a strong emotional response from viewers.
Guidelines
- Submissions must be original works created specifically for this competition.
- Each participant may submit up to two entries.
- Collaborations are permitted, but all contributors must be acknowledged.
- The competition is open to artists of all levels, from beginners to professionals.
Submission Requirement
- One – A3 Image in JPEG format. The resolution of the poster must be 300dpi.
- The title/name of the artwork.
- Each submission should include the unique registration number, and a brief description (maximum 150 words) explaining the inspiration behind the artwork/poster.
- Submit your entry by using the upload link in your registration confirmation email.
Poster Layout: Posters must be EXCLUSIVELY in landscape format, with dimensions of A3 size.
A zip file should contain: 1 X A3 (JPEG – 300 dpi) + 1 X Word DOC (150) Words
Note: All files must be named after the unique registration number.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevance and effectiveness in raising awareness about the threats facing Africa’s wildlife and environment.
- Creativity and originality of the artistic concept and execution.
- Emotional impact and ability to engage viewers.
- Technical proficiency and artistic merit.
